Muttaqi in Islamabad to attend Troika Plus meeting

PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Afghanistan’s acting foreign minister has arrived in Pakistan on his maiden visit to attend a Troika-Plus meeting in Islamabad.

Amir Khan Muttaqi, leading a 20-member delegation, will also meet senior Pakistani officials in ways of enhancing bilateral cooperation in different fields.

He is accompanied by Minister of Finance Hidayatullah Badri, Minister of Industries and Trade Nooruddin Aziz and senior officials from the aviation ministry.

The delegation was accorded a warm welcome at the Nur Khan Airbase on Wednesday by Pakistan’s Special Representative Mohammad Sadiq, Ambassador Mansoor Khan, Commerce Adviser Abdul Razak Dawood and other officials.

Muttaqi will hold formal talks with Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi besides meeting special representatives from China, Russia and the US.

The special envoys are set to participate in the Troika-Plus meeting on the situation Afghanistan — penciled in for Thursday (today).
