KABUL (Pajhwok): Interior Minister Serajuddin Haqqani has termed cricket players as the ambassadors of peace and representatives of the nation, according to a statement on Friday.
During a meeting with national cricket heroes Haqqani said after political change in the country the game of cricket was improving, the statement said.
Urging cricket players to maintain unity among themselves, Haqqani said: “Cricket players were peace ambassadors and representatives of people.”
He promised players with special cards for their security and said after political change cricket was moving towards transparency and development.
He said cricket board was independent in its affairs and no institution had the right to middle in their matters.
