Afghanistan, Zimbabwe set to play ODI opener

KABUL (Pajhwok): The first One-Day (ODI) match between Afghanistan and Zimbabwe is being played at the Harare Sports Club today (Saturday)

Afghanistan are currently touring Zimbabwe for a three-match ODI series, which will be followed by three T20 Internationals.

Afghanistan played their last ODI series against Bangladesh in February. They lost the series 2-1.

Placed in 10th spot in the ICC ODI rankings, Afghanistan will rely on Rashid Khan, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Najibullah Zadran, and Mohammad Nabi.

On the other hand, the hosts are placed in the 15th position in the ICC ODI Men’s Team rankings.

In their last ODI series, Zimbabwe were outplayed 2-1 by Sri Lanka earlier in the year. They are likely to boost their position in the ICC rankings.
