Afghanistan announce final squad for T20 WC

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming Twenty20 World Cup.

Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) spokesman Farid Hotak told Pajhwok Afghan News the squad had been announced as a result of recent training.

Hotak said the national team was currently training in Qatar for the upcoming World Cup, after which it would travel to the United Arab Emirates to participate in the World Cup.

The World Cup is scheduled to start on October 17.

The squad is: Mohammad Nabi (captain), Rahmanullah Garbiz and Mohammad Shahzad (wicket keepers), Hazratullah Zazi, Usman Ghani, Hashmatullah Shahidi, Asghar Afghan, Najibullah Zadran, Gulbuddin Naib and Karim Janat, Rashid Khan, Mujeeb Zadran, Hamid Hassan, Farid Malik and Naveenul Haq.

Sharafuddin Ashraf, Samiullah Shinwari, Dawlat Zadran and Fazal Haq Farooqi have been included in the squad as reserve players.
