Afghan citizen awarded 14 years in prison
PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): An Afghan citizen has been sentence to 14 years in jail for possessing explosives, a media report said on Saturday.
Aftab, a resident of eastern Nuristan province was awarded the punishment by an anti-terrorism court for Malakand Division on Friday
Dawn reported Judge Farid Khan Alizai handed down the judgment under Section 7(ff) of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997.
Aftab, accused of having links to an outlawed group, had been detained on April 15 in the Darosh locality of Chitral district.
Police recovered from Aftab explosives, including 21,850 metres of safety fuse and 1,911 pieces of dynamite, which he wanted to use for terrorist acts.
