Transportation of wheat from India to Afghanistan allowed

PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet has allowed transportation of 50,000 metric tons of wheat from India through the Wagah border to Afghanistan.

At a hurriedly-called meeting on the special instructions of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the ECC granted permission for the dispatch of the India-donated wheat to the neighbouring country via Pakistan.

Islamabad does not allow the transportation of goods under the transit trade agreement from India to Afghanistan on trucks through the Wagah border.

The News International reported: “As Afghanistan is facing a crisis-like situation, Islamabad granted permission for the transportation of wheat from India.”
