Russia to curb terror, drug threats from Afghanistan
KABUL (Pajhwok): Russia says preventing the destabilisation of Central Asian allies is the main task for it after the Taliban’s seizure of power in Afghanistan.
“The main thing for us is their stability, since we do not have borders with our Central Asian allies,” Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Sunday.
TASS news agency quoted as saying in an interview: “First and foremost, this is the necessity to prevent destabilisation of neighbouring countries.”
He also promised to curb the influx of terrorists and drug threats from Afghanistan, the necessity to nip these threats in the bud inside Afghanistan.
