Pakistan’s relief aid for flood victims reaches Afghanistan

KABUL (Pajhwok): The first batch of Pakistan’s relief assistance for flood-affected people reached Afghanistan on Saturday.

In compliance with the direction of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the aid was flown in by a special plane of the Pakistan Air Force.

According to the Associated Press of Pakistan, the relief items included 100 tents, two tonnes of wheat, one tonne of rice and 450 kilograms of sugar.

The state-run news agency quoted Sharif as saying that Pakistan would extend all possible support to the flood-hit people of Afghanistan.

Recent heavy rains and flash floods have killed at least 29 people, injuring scores of others and damaging properties in 12 provinces of Afghanistan.
