Iran, India talk improved regional connectivity

KABUL (Pajhwok): Iran and India have discussed the need for improving connectivity between Southeast Asia and Central Asia, said a media report on Thursday.

The two nations have been jointly focusing on better connectivity between South East Asia and Central Asia, the Hindustan Times said in a report regarding the Iranian foreign minister’s trip to India.

Located in the Sistan-Balochistan province on Iran’s southern coast, Chabahar Port is expected to become a key regional transit hub.

It is being developed by India, Iran and Afghanistan to boost connectivity and trade relations.

Iranian state-run media outlet wrote Iranian foreign minister and his Indian counterpart discussed regional cooperation, development, peace, and stability.

Both dignitaries also stressed over easing taught economic condition in Afghanistan and urged the formation of an inclusive government was vital for all segments of society in the war-torn country.
