KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghan opener Rahmamullah Gurbaz is expected to represent Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League (IPL), a media report said on Wednesday.
He could replace England’s opening batter Jason Roy, who has pulled out of the major cricket event, according to India Today.
With a 150-plus T20 strike rate, Gurbaz is a hard-hitting opener. He can also keep wickets in case of need. He has smashed 113 sixes in 69 T20 matches.
Although Gujarat Titans have not yet confirmed Gurbaz as a replacement for Roy, the franchise is awaiting the go-ahead from the Indian board.
