Illegal, unplanned construction banned in Khost

KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): Officials in southeastern Khost province have banned construction of unplanned and unauthorized buildings after the publication of Pajhwok Afghan News investigative report over the issue.

On December 9, Pajhwok Afghan News published its investigative report on unplanned and unauthorized construction in Khost City.

According to the report 85 percent buildings in Khost City, the provincial capital, constructed illegally and against urban plan.

Khost Information Department Director Mawlavi Shabir Ahmad Usmani told Pajhwok Afghan News newly construction in the city and around it would be according to the Municipality and Urban ministry plan.

He said no one would be allowed in the future to build illegal and unplanned building in Khost.

Samiullah Darman, the resident of Khost City, said government officials should stop the construction of illegal building in the city.

He said mostly constructed buildings in Khost city were unplanned and illegal.
