PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Pakistan has commended Qatar’s role promoting the peace process in Afghanistan.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif desired that Pakistan and Qatar should continue to work jointly for peace, stability and humanitarian aid for the Afghans.
Sharif was speaking to Qatar Amir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, who congratulated him on becoming Pakistan’s prime minister.
Besides agreeing on expanding bilateral cooperation in diverse fields, they also conferred on the regional security environment.
Separately, the Pakistan army chief and the Romanian ambassador discussed regional security, including the latest situation in Afghanistan.
A statement from the army’s media wing said Ambassador Nicolae Goia met Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi.
